Local Landmarks

This week I'm collecting some shots of local landmarks.  Every town has their own unique set of locations that evoke a sense of history.  I've found that often these places are very difficult to photograph.   They have meaning to local residents, but to anyone else they are just strange looking.  Whether they are architecture, public art or something else, it's a challenge to make a shot that has some appeal to a wider audience.  On top of that they are frequently in difficult to photograph places with all kinds of distractions.  Well, no one made promises it would be easy.

So here's some of my local landmarks.

Ratcliffe's Flowers, the best florist in town for 40 years

The Fish Fountain next to 'The Green' downtown

The Phat Burrito, a favorite local eatery since forever

Bistro Ally at the Charlotte EpiCenter

More places to go and subjects to shoot than there is time to do them justice.
